Construction Growth Continues in Greensboro-High Point

Construction continues in Greensboro-High Point, bringing growth and opportunity to the region

Major construction projects continue across Guilford County, North Carolina despite national COVID-19 related shutdowns and slowdowns. Major construction projects have included High Point’s Truist Point multi-use stadium, part of High Point’s downtown revitalization plan, and the new Hyatt Place in downtown Greensboro.

A LEADER IN INDUSTRIALIZATION

One of the leading developers behind Guilford County’s construction growth is Roy Carroll, Founder, President and CEO of The Carroll Companies. As a real estate development and construction company, The Carroll Cos. has successfully led the development of residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the Greensboro-High Point region and beyond.

Carroll is continuing work on his $140 million South of Ballpark mixed-use development in Downtown Greensboro and is actively seeking innovative projects that will increase the value of the community during this time. The Carroll Cos. also supports 1,500 jobs across Guilford County – the bulk of new jobs created in the region in the last 18 months.

“There’s been a pickup in industrial activity since the pandemic hit,” says Carroll. “The Triad is getting more and more attention for its location and logistics capabilities and I think Greensboro-High Point is in an excellent position to benefit from the logistics boom I believe is heading our way.”

GUILFORD COUNTY IS PRIMED FOR LOGISTICS BOOM

While the pandemic has caused disruptions across various industries, Carroll is hopeful that this shift will bring a logistics expansion to the region. “By being in Greensboro-High Point, we are well-positioned for this growth thanks to our robust transportation infrastructure and central location on the East Coast,” says Carroll. Greensboro-High Point has great railways, very little traffic and an airport with parallel runways, making it a prime location for distribution on the East Coast. “Not many areas are better suited for this opportunity than Guilford County,” says Carroll.

COMPANIES POWERING CONSTRUCTION IN GUILFORD COUNTY

High Point announced 47 industrial projects in 2019 alone. One of those developments was the opening of Amada’s 261,732-square foot manufacturing facility – the first of three buildings on its $125 million, 37-acre campus. Today, the manufacturer is working on building its technical center, which will serve as a showroom and training center for Amada’s equipment. Construction at Pegg Road Industrial Park is also underway with a 176,000-square foot industrial building and a proposed second building that will have 234,000-square feet of space.
